What is abstract art?

In a little popular way, abstract images and abstract art are something that does not really look like anything, also called non-figurative. Of course, everything looks like something, but it does not look like a tangible thing you necessarily know. Many of us can best understand the world when we see things or objects that we know and understand. So when you see abstract works of art or, as in Poster Dad's case, abstract photographs, your brain immediately tries to decode the abstract image into something you know and can understand, and there is nothing wrong with that at all.

Often the artist behind the abstract work has had an idea to provoke or challenge your senses, other times the art is created to captivate you. Abstract photographs from Plakatfar are often created on the basis of motifs we see in the urban or in nature. It is when we cut a known object, in the camera or in the studio, so that a new, immediately unknown motif arises, that the tension arises.

Cut the crap

In fact, it's very simple. Our abstract images are very rarely made with a, pre-determined thought. sometimes our abstract posters emerge from the pictures we have already taken, and other times we see the motif on the spot. It is therefore very difficult to decide in advance which photographs will end up as abstract posters - we will decide this when we see the picture.

Common to Poster Dad's abstract posters, however, is that you may recognize the motif, but it is taken out of its familiar context. It is thus the shapes and colors that define an abstract poster. Different people often see different motifs in an abstract image, and for some, that motif changes over time. Therefore, a few abstract posters on the wall will often be interesting for many years into the future.

We design far and wide in the well-known Nordic or Scandinavian style, which are simple minimalist motifs, usually in muted colors, or black and white. It is a style that fits really well with the typical Nordic home decor, and therefore we are also pretty sure that you can find an abstract poster or two that suits your decor in your living room, bedroom, hallway or a third place, in your home.

Buy your abstract posters in many sizes

As we work with an ultra modern production method, we are not dependent on a large stock, and therefore we can offer all our posters in many different sizes. From the small abstract pictures on A5 and A4 over the smaller abstract posters in A3 and 30x40 cm. If you want your abstract art for the wall in 50x70 cm or even 70x100 cm, then of course it is also an option. Times go against customers' wishes for larger and larger posters, and therefore we can also offer you a huge abstract image of 100x140 cm, or more.

Abstract poster including framing

Many customers do not bother to bear the hassle of being in charge of the framing themselves. If you do not have an old frame that you are just missing a new abstract image for, we offer that you can buy a nice frame with it. It is even cheap, as we give up to 43% discount on the frame if you buy the frame and an abstract poster together. The framing it is of course included in the price.

You can choose between 4 frames if you want framing of your new abstract image. You can choose the ever-popular oak frame, which is made of solid oak, in super nice slim profiles. You can also choose one of our two painted frames, namely the white wooden frame or the black wooden frame. Again, this is a really deliciously designed frame, which looks absolutely fantastic on our abstract posters. Finally, there is the super slim and completely elegant black aluminum frame, which fits especially well with an abstract poster in black and white. Whichever frame you choose, you get a frame, with simple tight profiles, and delicious solid joints. Of course, all frames are of the switch frame type, so you can reuse them again and again.
