One of the most beautiful areas in Europe is Provence in the south of France. The area is known for its many villages with old houses located close around the very narrow streets. But also their rosé production, the many lavender and sunflower fields and the almost always good weather.

It's a great area to go photo hunting, as there are beautiful poster motifs around every street corner, and you do not have to drive many kilometers by car before encountering an impressive mountain, or a beautiful natural area that will make itself as a motif on a poster.

On a photo trip in Provence

In the summer of 2019, we decided to go on a very special trip to the south of France to shoot a series of images, which had to be finished in a very special way. Usually we work in the New Nordic style, where the motifs are very minimalist and the colors very muted. This time we would work to highlight the details so that it will be almost like being there yourself when you see the picture.

In addition to the fact that Provence would offer a nice trip, the old townhouses, with their dilapidated facades and seeded gates and shutters, are perfect for a high level of detail.

Based on an old stone house in the town of Apt, we drove out to many of the small villages such as Valensole and larger towns, such as Arles and Aix en Provence, where we photographed loose. The cities here are so beautiful, so it's just about having the camera in front of your eyes all the time.
