A beautiful Faroe Islands poster where Mulafossur is one of the biggest attractions, which you may only understand when you are there. The beautiful fall that incessantly throws huge amounts of water into the Atlantic Ocean, between the beautiful soft hills and the hard vertical cliff sides, is obvious. In addition, we came on a day when the haze and fog washed in over land, laying a silence so that only the constant sound of the falling water and the dim drones of the Atlantic waves crashing against the rocks could be heard. We were lucky that day at Gasadalur.

This poster's motif of the fantastically beautiful and iconic Mulafossurer, is from the spring of 2018, when we were on a photo job in the Faroe Islands.
When we left anyway, we took a few extra days so we could get out and experience some of the many beautiful nature experiences that the Faroe Islands offer. The waterfall at Gasadalur is a "must see" sight, and it did not disappoint either.
On the day we visited the waterfall. there was a dense fog over the islands, and especially much lay over Gasadalur. So much so that we overlooked the sign, and therefore ended up in our four-wheel drive in deep mud and rocks, on top of one of the mountains, a place where we could not turn, nor could we move on. Therefore, the trip also offered a neck-breaking exercise in backing on steep mountain side in deep mud, before we finally found the waterfall.
Photography with a roaring soundscape
After a very short walk from the road where we parked, you come out to the cliff side, which is opposite the waterfall, which provides a good opportunity to photograph the waterfall. Along the way, the thumping roar of the Atlantic waves crashing relentlessly against the rocks just gets louder and louder, and this day there was almost no wind. it must be wild in stormy weather.
A fantastic backdrop where the hazy and windless weather, laid an almost blanket of silence around us, only interrupted by the sound of the waves of the sea crashing lazily into the mountains. The dense haze moved slowly away, so alternately had clear view of the mountains and occasionally could not see a hand for us. A great day for photography.
