If you park your car at Saksun Church and it is low tide, you can go all the way out to the Atlantic Ocean, through the meandering valley, with steep mountains on both sides. On the way you meet many of the local sheep, who also take the chance, at low tide. A typical picture from the Faroe Islands, which here has ended up as a beautiful poster.

The Faroe Islands have some of the most beautiful scenery in the world. In any case, the world that I and my family have seen and I can highly recommend a trip to the windswept islands of the North Atlantic. For many years we had wanted to see the Faroe Islands, but it was just as if it did not really fit in with the children's holidays, where there were other things on the program. In 2018, I got a photo job for a customer in the Faroe Islands, and we then combined that with a slightly longer trip, where we went around and looked at the delights.
One of the days we went on a trip to the village of Saksun, which is located up north on the island of Streymoy. In addition to the beautiful church, where we had lunch, there is the opportunity for a nice walk, along the river, out to the Atlantic Ocean. When I write opportunity, it means that it can only be done when the water level is favorable, and it was to that extent the day we were there. We had a whole highway of dry sandy bottom to walk on, and then it was no problem to reach all the way to the Atlantic Ocean. This poster shows the start of the path that leads out to the "Wadden Sea" and further out to the Atlantic Ocean.
