There is something atmospheric and melancholy about disused train tracks. The abandoned rails that disappear on the horizon, between the wild-growing plantations that are about to take over.

When we travel, we hike a lot. whether it is up in the mountains, or through the streets of the big city, we can walk up to many kilometers a day to experience the places we are.
This day, however, we came to go more than we had anticipated. We were taken out near the Royal National park, or on the map it seemed to be nearby, but in Australia you can be cheated a bit by the distances. Before we had even reached the edge of the park, we had walked many kilometers, as well as forced a highway, so we were already a little tender in the legs.
We decided to take the trip out to a restaurant, on the other side of the park, and from there find some public transport back. The problem was just that there was no public transport and we could not be allowed to withdraw money for a taxi , so we got to go all the way back again.
Along most of the trip lay the abandoned train track, which set a certain mood of the eternal wanderer.
However, the trip also offered good luck as we just managed to get into a station on the local railway before hell broke out with a powerful thunderstorm.
