The bird mountain on the Norwegian island Runde, hides a very special nature experience. The high steep cliff sides that end in the water as long pointed cliffs are very reminiscent of nature in the Faroe Islands. On this Norway poster, the picture is taken towards the part where the puffins live. However, they cannot be seen on the poster.

The island round is a very popular excursion destination for bird watchers. It is one of the easiest ways to get to see puffins, or puffins as the Norwegians call them, as the island is easy to get to via the many small bridges. If you use the first parking space you encounter, it is not even far to the mountain.
As such, the trip up to the bird mountain is not difficult. It starts very abruptly on some asphalt, but quickly turns into gravel path and ordinary grass and soil. You can can walk almost the whole island around, but it takes some time, so therefore we also took the slightly shorter trip, where we still spent about 3 hours. The last part we went in piss island rain, but that's part of the charm of moving around the mountains.
It is advertised that you can see bla. puffins and sea eagles. We did not see the sea eagles and I do not think it will happen as long as there are so many wandering around the area. The puffins live in a small area, but you need to bring powerful binoculars if you want to see them.
