A completely quiet spring day, by the Limfjord, where everything stands still, and you are completely worried about whether there is enough oxygen to breathe. Scented and sounding clearly penetrates. Then Denmark will not be much more beautiful. A blue poster with a Danish motif.
Denmark poster with small boat on the calm waters of the Limfjord
Nature poster with a small boat on the water.
During Pentecost 2018, when we were at a larger family event in northern Jutland, we decided to take a few extra days to have time to get around and look at the landscape. My wife's name is Lønstrup by last name, and of course comes from the town of the same name, somewhere in the distant past, and I myself am called Kliim by last name, and comes from the town of Klim. And yes - that's right. My last name is with two i's, but it's due to a typo, at some point in the story.
Our trip naturally passed the two cities Lønstrup and Klim, which strangely enough are very close to each other, and I must say that Lønstrup wins if it is photo opportunities that the two cities compete on 😀
On the edge of the Limfjord
Another destination was Klitmøller, or Cold Hawaii, as the city is also called because of the amazing conditions that are for surfers. To get from Klim to Klitmøller, there are a few options, and we luckily chose route 29, where you drive a long way all the way along the coast of the Limfjord.
It was an incredibly quiet quiet day. There was no wind moving, and therefore the haze lay completely still at the very bottom of the sea surface. I tell my wife it would be great if we could spot a boat on the still water as it could be a beautiful picture.
For a long time, nothing happened. Just water, water, water and mist. But as if by chance, the GPS decided that we should turn off and drive off 581, because there - just after Amtoft, where there is a small path down to the shores of the Limfjord, there was a small fishing dinghy.
An ideal photo opportunity
So down the path and out of the car, after which it was really just shooting off. The motive was there, so it could hardly go wrong. Often the beautiful motif is not a matter of the best equipment and the best abilities. Often it is a matter of pursuing an idea, and being willing to invest the time in seeking it out.
I thought I got a picture that serves the Limfjord's honor, and which is also just a beautiful picture that can fit into many contexts.
