One of the most iconic buildings in Sydney is the Opera, located centrally in the city, on the large harbor area. A must if you visit Sydney, not least because it was designed by the famous Danish architect Jørn Utzon.

We are so lucky to have children who have the courage in life and like to travel the world for, as part of their studies. Conversely, we have the attitude that we go to school-home conversations, no matter where in the world our children are.
It brought us to Sydney in 2018. School-home conversations, as you know, do not take much time, so we had the luxury of a lot of time exploring the city and its surroundings.
Of course, opera was high on the to-do list. Now we are architects and were brought up with the story of Jørn Utzon, who conquered Sydney with his building, but we can well imagine that many Danes are around the opera building when they are on the Australian territory. It is also a little difficult to avoid, as it is located quite centrally in the harbor, and fills a part of the landscape.
Of course, it turned into an even very large pile of pictures of the building, and not least the iconic roof, which is covered with Swedish-fired glazed tiles.
Fun fact: when we renovated the bathroom in our previous house, it was with tiles of the same kind as on the roof in Sydney - but only in blue.
