A late summer day at the beach. The eternal cradle of the sea surface, making small squeaking noises around the gnarled and unprocessed bottom net piles that serve as vantage points for a colony of cormorants sitting in the midday sun waiting for the next fish to swim past. Just like the fishermen who have set up the neatly constructed system of fishing nets, close to the water's edge.

Actually, I saw the subject long before I took the picture. It was on one of my trips to Jutland, where the weather was calm and hazy, and right after I had passed the toll booth in Korsør, I saw the nets in the water, and the cormorants sitting on top of the high bottom net piles.
The next time I went to Jutland, it was almost the same weather, with calm winds and slightly hazy, so I drove off the highway and that day got many pictures of fishing nets and cormorants.
