Marseille in France is an incredibly vibrant city, with a lot of life. You can clearly feel from the population that you have come to a big city, and Marseille is also France's second largest city.
The city has grown over the years, which can be seen in the architecture, which as the city has grown, has become more and more modern. Most interesting in terms of photography, we thought, is the inner so-called historic center, with the characteristic old townhouses, with yellow facades that lie close around the narrow streets.
Especially an area, close to the port, is exciting. Here, the residents have to that extent moved nature into the city, with lots of pots and planters, filled with green plants that make the area a green oasis. Here, cosiness and relaxation are paramount.
It is in this area that the motif of this poster has been found. It is a very romantic section of the city, which contains many of the elements we often associate with the south of France. The narrow street, the small shops and not least the old worn shutters, with peeling paint, which almost looks like they are painted on the facades.
