“You Danish summer, I love you…” The summer is here, and we’re spending more and more time outdoors on those long, warm evenings. It might not be the season when we focus most on home décor — but why not let the vibrant Danish landscape inspire your next poster purchase? Here are five poster suggestions that can keep that summer feeling alive well into autumn. And if you want more, check out our full Denmark Poster Series.
This poster is a tribute to the many Danish fields, meadows, and roadsides that bloom every June with vivid red poppies. The image combines black-and-white with colour — or rather, one colour: the striking red of the poppy petals. The sky and grass are muted to make the flowers seem as if they’re floating in the air.
“Poppies” is one of our most popular posters. Many customers pair it with the “Rapeseed” poster, designed in the same style. It looks equally elegant in an oak frame or a slim black aluminium frame — a simple yet eye-catching piece that fits beautifully into any room.
One of the iconic lifeguard towers at Bellevue Beach in Klampenborg, north of Copenhagen. Designed by the legendary architect Arne Jacobsen, these towers are Danish design classics. The photo was taken on a chilly July morning in 2017 — a cold summer, but at least we had the beach to ourselves.
The soft green sea and the violet sky make a perfect backdrop for the simple blue-and-white-striped tower. The low morning sun casts long shadows along the pier, enhancing the clean geometric lines. “Bellevue” works especially well in an oak frame, though black aluminium is a fine alternative.
#3 “Rubjerg Lighthouse”
Rubjerg Lighthouse stands proudly on Rubjerg Knude, on Denmark’s west coast. The surrounding area is pure sand — rolling dunes as far as the eye can see — and if you squint a little, you might imagine yourself in the Sahara. The picture was taken on a crystal-clear day, with the deep blue sky contrasting beautifully with the golden sand.
This bright, summery motif celebrates a piece of Danish maritime history. The warm tones of the sand and the strong blue of the sky make it perfect for an oak frame, though a slim black aluminium frame also suits it well.
A serene photo taken on a warm, still day at Limfjorden. A small wooden boat floats on mirror-like water beneath a single white cloud. You can almost hear the gentle lapping of waves. This is one of those moments where nature paints its own picture — a calm, minimalistic expression of the Danish summer.
The sea and sky are such central parts of Danish life, and this image captures them beautifully. It looks fantastic in a slim white aluminium frame but also pairs nicely with oak for a natural, Nordic feel.
#5 “Fishing Nets by the Coast”
This motif from Korsør shows fishing nets stretched between tall wooden poles where cormorants perch, gazing out to sea. Shot against the light, the birds and nets appear as silhouettes against the deep blue sky and sea. It’s a quietly dramatic scene — a glimpse of traditional Danish coastal life.
Although this kind of net fishing has become rarer, it’s still a common sight in some coastal regions. The blue tones of this poster make it elegant in a white aluminium frame, but it also looks great in black or oak, depending on your décor style.
All posters at Plakatfar are available in multiple sizes and can be purchased framed. Choosing a framed version saves you between 30% and 45%, depending on the size. Simply select your preferred frame on the same page as your poster, and it will arrive ready to hang — easy and convenient.
